Our first Rum was distilled in the Summer of 2019 after months of experimentation with flavours, spices botanicals and learning the distilling process.
Scottish, Craft Rum with authenticity
The beginning
The Jacobite Spirits Company, and all of our Scottish Spiced Rums (The 45 Scottish Spiced Rum, Charlie’s Chopper Clean Cut and Charlie’s Chopper Raspberry Cranachan) were created by a group of friends inspired by the Spirit of Rebellion. We shared the idea of bringing a different spirit to the table… a table crowded with consumers who have a thirst for high-quality drinks, and congested with bottles of samey products which lack their own identity.
We wanted to come up with an idea that would help bring people together to talk, meet and live in the moment. We bring an enthusiasm for doing something new. Full disclosure - we also want to drink. Responsibly, of course.
We have created a range of authentic Rums from scratch with a hand-made, craft approach. Our rum is truly distilled by us - we have learned the craft from scratch and have taken years to bring our product to you. Seriously, do you know how complicated this was?
We hope you will love The 45 Spiced Rum and Charlie’s Chopper Raspberry Spiced Rum as much as we do - we are proud of how we make them and how we drink them. We’re amazed at where this venture has taken us so far and look forward to saying “cheers” one day in person.

Our Journey
There is only one way to start a craft distillery (in our opinion). And that’s to get a couple of sheds, get some friends together and start experimenting (once you’ve completed various license and health and safety requirements, obviously). And that’s what we did. In late 2018, after some pretty serious research trips, the Jacobite Spirits team embarked on the journey to make the best Scottish Spiced Rum we could imagine. It was surprisingly hard work and it continues to occupy our days, nights, mornings and everything in between.
We make everything ourselves and we’ve driven the process off our own steam - OK, we got some help with the label and the logo but we found the perfect partner for that. Do you like it?

Our Spiced Rums
You can find out more about our rums here on our website but, of course, it’s safe to say we think it’s the best drink imaginable. We have taken the international spices at the heart of most good spiced rums and blended them with locally-sourced botanicals (and fruits) for a delicious, and uniquely Scottish, flavour profile.
And we don’t just care about creating an authentic, exciting product. We care about the environment we make them in. All of our ingredients come from sustainable sources and, where possible, from as close to us as we can get them. We’re quite picky about where we get our things and we are proud to tell you that everything you see when you look at our rum has been sustainably sourced - including the bottle itself, which is made in Scotland.
